Have you seen our beautiful stained glass windows yet? Mrs Wright and the Snowy Owls created these after their rainy church visit last week and I think they’re stunning. Well done Snowy Owls!

This afternoon, we have been busy mixing different shades of blue, pink and turquoise to create an Antarctic sunset background for our penguin pictures. We got a little messy but we all worked together beautifully! I can’t wait to finish these pictures with the Snowy Owls next week 😊

This morning the snowy owls started the day off with a bit of a wet walk up to the church. When they got back they were so exited to tell me about the pews, the cross and the stained glass windows!
We then had a rather large visitor, Sam the snail and it’s three snail babies and eggs. We talked about the lift cycle of the snail and had lots of fun watching them eat sweet potato!

This afternoon we have been looking at habitats for the first time. We stared by looking at where in the world different animals come from using our special picture maps.

Well, I have had the best first week back with the Snowy Owls. They have worked their absolute socks off for me this week, producing the most outstanding work! I have just been so very proud of them all week.

Our new book is called “The Emperor’s Egg” and it is set in Antarctica.

This week, in literacy, we have been looking at photographs of Antarctica and producing some descriptive writing using lots of adjectives.

We are always adding new words to our literacy wall, which could help us with our topic.

Can you think of any more Antarctica words which we could add to our wall?

What a fun last day to end a brilliant term with the Snowy Owls. You’ve all worked your socks off for me since September and have already made amazing progress. Have an absolutely brilliant Christmas and I’ll see you in January!

What a fun afternoon we had! We played lots of Christmas games, ate LOTS of party food and did even more brilliant dancing.

This afternoon we have been making Christmas trees using strips of green paper and lots of sequins!

This afternoon, before our brilliant Christmas performance, we thought we’d do a lovely Christmassy activity and make some beautiful baubles.

This week we’re investigating how many tens and ones are in “teen” numbers. Yesterday, we used ten frames to work this out, we had lots of fun working in pairs and recording our answers on the iPad!

In our ICT slot, we practised using Microsoft word to type up a letter to Santa. Our challenge was to change the font, size and colour! We did an amazing job!

This year, the Snowy Owls have worked as a team to create our own advent calendar, but our advent calendar is very special. Underneath each door, there is an act of kindness. Our challenge each day is to do the act of kindness at school, or at home, so that everyone has a happy and smiley lead up to Christmas! I wonder what our act will be tomorrow…

Today in the Snowy owls, we decided that we would practise being truly lovely and we wrote lovely messages to each other and shared them in a circle. It was truly heart warming to hear all of the beautiful things the children had to say about each other.

Yesterday, we had a lovely discussion about how there’s something similar about each person and how there’s something different about each person, and how we should celebrate our differences.
On the inside of our picture we talked about similarities and on the outside we looked at differences.
